Red Spade Open: Moneymaker among field for Day 2

It's Monday, which means by 8pm tonight (UK time) you'll be one with dinner, only to discover that there's nothing on television.

Short of calling it a night, and going to bed earlier than when you were eight years old, you could skip the box set, or Netflix, log into PokerStars and keep an eye on how things are panning out in the Red Spade Open instead.

Why should you do that?

Well, for one thing it's getting close to the business end, with 347 players left. They remain from a gargantuan field of 26,049 that started yesterday. That's more eliminations than in a John Wick movie.

And how do things look after day one?

Well, the field is led by Polish player jamessz4. After nearly 19 hours of play, he had nearly 3 million chips, with the big blind at 30K for the restart. The money kicked in at 3,671 players remaining so we're well into the pay-outs, with the current one being $337 (all of this for a $55 buy-in).

Of chief interest to PokerStars is the avatar of Chris Moneymaker in 167th position with 647,000 chips. He is the best of Team Pro, with Celina Lin, Adrienne Rowsome and Mikhail Shalamov finishing in the money.

With 347 players left, that 694 eyes on the $132,107 first prize when play restarts at 8pm UK time this evening (3pm ET). You can follow along via the Tournament Lobby.
